Moussa Bougma, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Research Unit of Population and Education at the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) of the Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo of Ouagadougou (ex University of Ouagadougou), Burkina Faso. He completed his PhD in Demography at the Université de Montréal, Canada. Before joining the ISSP, he was demographer in charge of studies at the Institut national de la statistique et de la démographie (INSD) of Burkina Faso. He has coordinated and contributed to the realization of several expertise and research projects and therefore has a great expertise in the design and implementation of socio-demographic studies using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. His research interests include education, child labor, nutrition and food insecurity, family networks, sexual and reproductive health, demographic dividend, and public policy evaluation in sub-Saharan Africa. He is currently coordinating the platform for the promotion of children’s rights, initiated in 2016 at ISSP and funded by Unicef.
