May 23-25, 2016: Child Protection and Rapid Assessment Training

The CPC Learning Network ran a Child Protection Rapid Assessment (CP RA) Training in May 2106 with an aim to increase the pool of trained individuals who are available to lead child protection rapid assessments in emergencies, strengthening the existing evidence base in these contexts.

The overall objective of the training was to provide participants with an in-depth introduction to the components of the CP RA toolkit and guidance on the steps required to roll out the CP RA process. The training included a focus on the CP RA methodology, the data collection tools and how to adapt these to the context, managing assessment data and a review of the lessons that have been learned from past child protection rapid assessments.

The training was held in New York, USA from Monday 23 May to Wednesday 25 May 2016.
