Evelyn Marquez is a graduate research assistant with the CPC Learning Network and a first year MPH student in the Department of Population and Family Health with a certificate in Public Health and Humanitarian Assistance. She received a Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a clinical social worker in a primary care facility. Her work was mostly with migrants who had fled violence from Mexico and Central America and had experienced trauma. She supported different projects in central Texas aimed at documenting the asylum seeking process for Central American women and family detention centers in Texas. Evelyn looks forward to working with the CPC to support training, research, and advocacy which aims to globally advance children’s care, protection, and welfare.
