Evelyn Marquez, MSSW is a graduate research assistant with the CPC Learning Network and a second year MPH student in the Department of Population and Family Health with a certificate in Public Health and Humanitarian Action. She received a Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a clinical social worker in a primary care center working with immigrants who had fled violence from Mexico and Central America and had experienced trauma in Austin, Texas. She supported various projects in central Texas aimed at documenting the asylum seeking process for Central American women and family detention centers in Texas, and advocated for the end of family detention. Evelyn is interested in climate change migration and child protection. After her MPH, Evelyn hopes to contribute to evidence driven public policy.
