Newsletter: June 2019

In this newsletter you will find a round-up of CPC news, highlights from the recent work of our faculty affiliates, learning opportunities, and relevant vacancies.

We would like to draw your attention to Global Public Health’s Call for Papers. The journal invites the submission of full-length articles for a special journal issue on Social and Gender Norms and Violence against Children: Exploring their role and strategies for prevention. The goal of this special issue is to increase the body of literature on 1) how norms contribute to the perpetration or the prevention of VAC and 2) effective strategies to shift harmful norms to prevent VAC.  Abstracts must be submitted by July 26, 2019. Also, we’re thrilled to announce the seventh and final webinar in the CPC Learning Network and  Learning Initiative on Norms, Exploitation, and Abuse (LINEA) joint webinar series on social norms. The webinar titled, Gendered Attitudes & Norms: Impacts on behavior, victimization, and mental health among adolescents, will showcase innovative findings from two case studies examining the relationships between gender norms and intimate partner violence victimization and perpetration in Nigeria. The webinar will be held on July 31 at 9:00 AM EDT. See more information below or click here to register!
